Thane Engineering Support Services takes trainingto new heights with compilation and presentation of a wide range
of material which facilitates the growth of your employees.
Thane Engineering Support Services' Educational Systems Evolution (ESE) approach to training ensure that the customer knows exactly where the
training project is at any time.
The phases of ESE are
Needs analysis is a critical phase of the ESE process that allows us to
determine the content of training. We need to assess the trainees in terms of:
- What
is the job that must be done? (understand all the tasks that must be
completed)
- Where
are the trainees now in terms of the head, heart and hands? (cognitive,
affective and psychomotor)
- Where
would we like to be in the future? (define the gap)
- What
must we do to get there? (bridge the gap)
- How
long should this process take? (time is money!)
Numerous
techniques are used to gather this information; these include a review of
existing training material, personnel surveys, discussion groups and on-the-job
observation.

In the Course
Design phase of the ESE process, Thane Engineering Support Services (in consultation with the client) make decisions about:
- Organisation
of the learning material
- Presentation
of the material
- Delivery
media and technology
- Entry
requirements for the training course
- Acceptable
trainee performance criteria
At the end of
this phase, the client has the training specifications and a course outline.

The Materials
Development phase of the ESE process involves developing
the material that enables the process.
- We
define the required performance outcomes.
- Design
and implement tests that tell us what we should be doing.
- We
decide how the specific audience will react to particular types of
training.
- Will
we use contracted trainers, peer-to-peer teaching, resident training
officers, handouts, computer-based training, on-line help systems,
internet facilitated training, or any of the enormous range of training
aids which are available.

Training Presentation is the heart of the exercise. If we do not present training
in a way that the trainees find interesting, stimulating and enjoyable, then we
might as well not do any training at all. To make this work, we must
ensure that the entire training team is up to speed and focused.
Train-the-trainer courses are developed and run in-house. Short courses in
Presentation Skills are available for trainers, supervisors and all managerial
levels.

Evaluation of the process is continuous. Every stage of development
is presented to the client for approval. Once trainees have completed the
training, a second phase of evaluation is entered where the effect of the
training is monitored. Feedback from this phase is used to update training
material and presentation, constantly improving the process.
